The Twilight Keeper

An Art Deco toi-et-moi, the calibré-cut sapphires cooler in daylight than you expect, never showy. The detail is built up bead by bead, a technique half-lost by the time this was made. It came to us from a house near Antwerp, still in the fitted box it was put away in. You can tell it was worn, not kept — the highest thing we can say of a piece.
