The Consul Solitaire

An Edwardian solitaire, the old-cut diamonds catching the light along one edge and nowhere else. It is finished on the inside as carefully as on the face, where no one would ever look. It came to us from an English country house, still in the fitted box it was put away in. It is the kind of thing you buy once and never think to replace.
