A lavalier in platinum, old-European-cut diamonds cooler in daylight than you expect, never showy. Whoever made it favoured calibré-cut channel setting. The detail is built up bead by bead, a technique half-lost by the time this was made. It had spent two generations with a Milanese estate before it found its way to us, passed hand to hand and never once sold until now. You can tell it was worn, not kept — the highest thing we can say of a piece.
