Knife-edge galleries across the whole face of a small crescent brooch.
The story
A crescent brooch in platinum, old-cut diamonds catching the light along one edge and nowhere else. Whoever made it favoured knife-edge galleries. It is back-carved so the light enters from behind — the maker's quiet trick.
It had spent two generations with a Milanese estate before it found its way to us, passed hand to hand and never once sold until now. It asks very little of whoever wears it next and gives back a great deal.
