Turquoise cabochons running the length of a strap bracelet.

The story

The whole point of this Victorian strap bracelet is restraint — turquoise cabochons, holding a steady robin-egg blue even in shade, and nothing more than hand-chased repoussé. It is back-carved so the light enters from behind — the maker's quiet trick. The last owner was a house in the Tyrol; with a note in the box naming the woman who first wore it. It asks very little of whoever wears it next and gives back a great deal.
