Cadence Ring

A half-hoop in high-carat gold, seed pearls deepening to soft cream under candlelight. Whoever made it favoured cannetille goldwork. The detail is built up bead by bead, a technique half-lost by the time this was made. It had spent two generations with a Karlsbad collection before it found its way to us, passed hand to hand and never once sold until now. You can tell it was worn, not kept — the highest thing we can say of a piece.
