Aurora Collar

This négligée is Art Nouveau through and through — opals, worn thin at the back where a hand has turned it for a century, set in chased naturalistic goldwork. The gallery is sawn through with a saw-blade no thicker than a hair. We bought it from an old Salzburg family, with the original receipt still tucked inside the lid. Nothing about it was made to impress, which is exactly why it does.
